Morning Ferry to Gigha

Morning Ferry to Gigha

Oil on Canvas, 30×40″(76x102cms)

The enchanting island of Gigha is one of the most fertile on the West Coast of Scotland with white sand beaches and the famous Achmore Gardens with its collection of tropical plants as the Gulf Stream warms the surrounding sea waters. The Calmac ferry is the island lifeline and in this painting I captured the early morning service cutting through the still water and mist as it arrives at the pier.
